Royal Albert Hall edit

The distinctive circular concert hall south of Hyde Park is quite a rewarding sight. It dates from the Victorian era -- built in honor of Queen Victoria's husband -- and its shape is modeled after a Roman amphitheater. But a glance at the program of events at the Royal Albert Hall is worth it, especially since, in addition to classical concerts, it also hosts pop and rock events. Greats like Led Zeppelin, Eric Clapton, The Killers, and Depeche Mode have played here. If Pink Floyd ever reunites, it will never play the venerable rotunda -- after the band fired two cannons during a 1968 concert, they were banned for life.
