  • There are two reasons, why you should visit the former summer-palace of Prince Eugene of Savoy. First: the palace garden streches across a hill which allows one of the nicest views over Vienna's city center. Second: the splendid baroque buildings house the "Belvedere"-gallery, and therefore the greatest collection of Austrian art, including Gustav Klimt's world-famous art-nouveau-icons.

  • Absolut sehenswert, aber nicht so pompös wie Schönbrunn.

  • Be sure to go to the lower Belvedere as well in order to not miss the special exhibitions!

  • There's a lot to see across the different parts of the Belvedere Palace - the main gallery is in the Upper Belvedere and I highly recommend to get the audio guide, it's 3€ but you get so much more out of all the paintings and learn about the history of Belvedere and Prince Eugene as well. The lower Belvedere and the Orangerie (the former stables) features different, changing exhibitions.
