This beautifully restored old silver mining town located about an hour drive east of Salt Lake city and the adjacent ski resorts Deer Valley and Park West are undoubtedly the largest and most varied winter sports areas of Utah. Clouds coming from the Pacific travel 300 miles across the Nevada desert before unloading their fine, powdery snow over the Wasatch Mountains - about 40 feet each winter! Perfect skiing conditions which also benefited the winter Olympics which took place in Park City back in 2002.
