A different type of island life in the North Atlantic.

The magical land of Iceland in the North Atlantic Ocean has glaciers, stunning mountains, lush pastures, romantic fjords, volcanic landforms, hot springs, and unique bird and sea life. But all of this is easily accessible from its capital, Reykjavík, where traditional and modern go hand in hand. Wander through the city to experience thermal swimming pools, spas, nightlife, museums, and other sights and sounds. Bicycles can be rented for $25 a day to explore the interior wilderness but require good physical stamina. Rent cars at about $220 per day to enjoy summer travel. Trips to Breidafjördur, Látrabjarg, and Vigur for the bird cliffs and volcanic landforms in the west are simply unforgettable. Northern Iceland features Skagafjördur, known for horseback riding, winding mountain trails, and picturesque Lake M_vatn, a haven for birders - a perfect spot to enjoy the midnight sun. Vatnajökull in the east is a mosaic of green land, white glaciers, and black volcanic sand. The virgin wilderness of the Highlands is best explored on foot.
